Precision fermentation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Will we be able to eat cheese products without using animals in the near future? Berlin-based start-up Formo is developing identical milk proteins with specialized microorganisms and aims to use precision fermentation to take the cow out of the dairy supply chain, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 91 to 97 percent.

We are supporting Formo with our expertise in genome editing and our proprietary DNA nucleases to develop microbial strains for the production of animal-free cheese products.
